PARYAVARAN CHETANA

Plantation

In recent years, the environment has become a significant topic of discussion. Landfills are overflowing with non-biodegradable waste, deforestation is occurring on a massive scale, and underwater creatures are being disturbed due to the vast amounts of plastic waste filling our oceans. We have reached a point where measures need to be taken at the individual level to combat climate change and create a better world for us to live in.

“Paryavaran Chetana” is another important project where the aim is to make the surroundings cleaner and greener. One of the initial campaigns under this project focused on reducing plastic usage. Volunteers encourage people through posters and slogans to minimize their use of plastic. Each volunteer also brings plastic bags for recycling against which they are gifted school stationery.

Furthermore, Humankind has partnered with women in slums who are skilled in stitching. They make bags, mobile sling bags, cushion covers, and pillow covers from waste cloth. These products are then sold in the market.

Every year, children are gifted seeds which they are encouraged to grow in and around their homes and water until they become strong.

Humankind plans to launch more such campaigns in the future to benefit the environment and contribute to sustainable development.
