The women and girls of the locality are mostly involved in household chores. The surroundings of their homes in the bastis, makes it difficult for women and girls to step out of their houses, which leads to poor educational status and low self -confidence to face the world. They have to bear the brunt of most of the evils like ill treatment, domestic violence etc. This project is aimed at empowering all such women and girls.

Humankind has set up its first vocational skill training center, Saksham, to make women self-sufficient and confident. At present basic tailoring skills are taught under the programme to enable women to work from home. They can continue in their traditional role as homemaker and yet earn.
